Seismic Clip (370)

Part Number: 370

The Seismic Hook Tab Holds masonry reinforcement or pencil rod for seismic zone applications. This 20-gauge clip can be welded onto any of the Heckmann wire ties. Typical wires for seismic applications are the Pos-I-Tie triangle and pintle wire ties, #316 triangle ties, and #103-C dovetail triangle veneer anchors. Note: The 2013 TMS 402 Building Code and 2015 International Building Code no longer require the use of continuous wire in the brick veneer for high seismic zones. These may still be required in areas under the jurisdiction of earlier codes.

Materials/Finishes

Type 304 Stainless Steel

#370 Seismic Hook Tab

20 gage clip 7/8” wide x 9/16” long with a 1⁄4” o.d. bend available welded to Hotdip or Stainless Steel Wire Veneer Ties. Please note that the Code Requirement for tying veneer anchors using a reinforcing wire in the veneer attached to anchors has been eliminated in the TMS 402 2013 edition and IBC 2015 edition.

The #370 Seismic Hook Tab is factory welded to any of our 3/16” diameter wire veneer anchors. A 9 gage or 3/16” single reinforcing wire runs through the veneer every 18” high and is tied back to the backup wall using the clip that is welded to the anchor.
