Star Threaded Inserts (444) & Insert Plugs (446)

Part Number: 444/446

No 444 Threaded inserts are cast into concrete or precast and permit anchor bolts to be removed and reinstalled as often as required. The inserts can be used to lift removable concrete slabs or vault covers. Since Threaded Inserts can be accurately laid-out, they are especially useful for mounting equipment or fixtures which must be precisely located. Threaded Inserts offer a clean and unobtrusive appearance without protrusion beyond the face of the concrete. In addition, Threaded Inserts are more reliable than typical expansion anchors and they avoid the risk of damaging concrete when drilling anchor holes.

The No. 446 Plugs are used for installation. They are nailed onto the inside of the form and the No 444 is then screwed onto the 446. When the forms are stripped away, the 446 Plug is unscrewed to expose the embedded insert.

TEST CONDITIONS: The following chart is based on the average of many physical tests under proper conditions. (To obtain maximum load of insert machine bolt thread engagement must be at least 75% of the depth of the threaded hole. Use either bolts or threaded rods when attaching fixtures to the inserts.)
